The Metro Detroit Golden Gloves team from the USA has arrive in Accra Ghana on Wednesday evening for an international friendly boxing tournament against Ghana’s Black Bombers.
They were welcomed by Vice President Nii Gonti Adjor 1 aka Nii Adama Addy and George Lamptey former President of the Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF).
The show is on Saturday October 10 at the Bukom Boxing Arena.

10 bouts by 20 exciting boxers, exhibition by juvenile boxers and more fans to watch and in Accra, we say ‘Oobake’ meaning Welcome or ‘Akwaaba’…to the motherland.
“Ghana is the best place for our Boxers to get good competition” said Ansel Stewart – Franchise Holder for Metro Detroit Golden Gloves.
Katealia Chambers, President of Metro Detroit Golden Gloves Golden Gloves and Team Leader to Accra, speaking on arrival at the Accra International Airport for the 10-bout fight show against Ghana’s Black Bombers on Saturday said they are here in Ghana for the first time to win and learn..

Nii Adama Addy aka Nii Gonti, First Vice-President of Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) who led the welcome party of the Metro Detroit Golden Gloves boxing team to Accra, Ghana urged boxing fans to come and watch good amateur boxing at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday.
“We have both prepared our boxers well and the ring will decide but we, the Black Bombers want to win all the 10 bouts to give our boxers the winning mentality, we are very glad to host them because we need more fights with unknown opponents to toughen our boys for the Olympic Games in LA in the USA” he expressed. The night has been dubbed ‘Fist of Fury 2026’ Fight Night.
