Navarrete vs Foster Unification Set for October 24 at Alamodome

SAN ANTONIO, USA — Three-division world champion Emanuel “Vaquero” Navarrete and WBC junior lightweight titleholder O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster have formally agreed to terms for a long-awaited super featherweight unification clash set for October 24 at the Alamodome in San Antonio.

Navarrete (40-2-1, 33 KOs), the reigning WBO and IBF 130-pound monarch, enters the bout following an 11th-round stoppage win over rival Eduardo Nuñez in February to consolidate two of the division’s belts. The October 24 showdown against Foster will mark Navarrete’s attempt to capture a third world title strap in the division.

For Houston’s Foster (25-3, 12 KOs), who successfully retained his WBC strap via majority decision over Raymond Ford in May, the matchup resolves months of frustration trying to secure a major unification. Foster had publicly urged negotiations to finalize, threatening to move up to lightweight if a multi-belt bout failed to materialize this autumn.

The main administrative hurdle remains the status of the WBO belt. WBO officials recently ordered Navarrete to face mandatory challenger Charly Suarez, whose camp has publicly called for Navarrete to relinquish the WBO crown if he bypasses Suarez for a second consecutive unification. Despite the sanctioning order, camp representatives confirmed terms are set for the high-stakes matchup to proceed in Texas.

“Navarrete-Foster pits the highest-volume, most awkward presser at 130 pounds against one of the sport’s slickest defensive counter-punchers,” noted ringside analysts during Saturday’s fight broadcast.

The event will air live globally on DAZN.
