Cape Verde’s face of women’s boxing Moreira training in Ireland
Africa welterweight champ in 2023 Ivanusa Moreira has landed in Ireland for a training stint.
The Cape Verde celebrated boxer is preparing for the upcoming events including the African Elite Men’s and Women’s Championships.
“Out of nowhere I’m in Ireland. Training properly, eating properly, resting properly,” she says
“This is the reality of high competition athletes.
All I need is a trainer and a physiotherapist (for body aches)
“Who said it was easy? It’s many many years investing, traveling alone, eating alone, ice cream alone, starving alone, gaining weight alone.. This really is a sacrificial sport.
“Even so, I couldn’t refuse an invitation to stand next to athletes with whom I’ve already shared the biggest stage in the world.
“I keep investing in my career and my dream.”
