Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White share a long-standing rivalry. The two men do not see eye to eye, and neither of their actions seems to garner admiration from the other.
Long before White entered the world of boxing promotion, he had a persistent issue with De La Hoya, frequently mentioning De La Hoya’s purported debts and his outdated perspective on boxing.
Conversely, Oscar criticizes Dana by accusing him of being a monopolist who defrauds his fighters of their earnings.
In a recent interview, Dana had some even strong words for Oscar.
“Oscar is on a sinking ship and will not shut up…He’s running out of money”
Earlier, Oscar had expressed his disapproval of Dana White’s new venture, Zuffa Boxing. He described it as a weekend show that was destined to fail from the outset.
Zuffa Boxing aims to implement a UFC-like structure in boxing, emphasizing that fighter records will be more authentic and boxers will face top competitors while in their primes.
Despite only having its second event on January 31st, Zuffa Boxing is experiencing significant buzz, largely attributed to Dana White and Saudi Arabian influence.
With regard to fighters, Zuffa has secured major talent such as Jai Opetaia, Ife Agbaja and Callum Simpson.
