It is always a thing of joy when the Ghanaian teams representing at the Tokyo Olympics share news of positivity and determination. With none of the teams recording a case of ill health, it is believed they are following all protocols with strict adherence.

 

The Tokyo Olympic games kick start on the 23rd of July 2021, the Black Bombers among other Ghanaian athletes will depart for Tokyo in three days time to start camp for their final preparation for the games.

Samuel Takyi, nicknamed the ‘Golden Ring Warrior’ from the Black Bombers camp will be the first to fight from the Bombers camp based on his weight classification. He keeps showing promise during routine training and keeps high spirit.

With his evolving nature in the ring and at every training, the Bombers coach has tipped he will go far in his career. He is constantly adopting to the style of his opponent and ensures he gives them a hell of a time in the ring.

Sulemana Tetteh, the General Captain of the Ghana team and Captain of the Black Bombers shared his views on the preparedness at the camp saying, “we are more than prepared for the games. We have put our bodies out there to train day and night both in Ghana and in Japan, we are physically, morally and mentally prepared. We came here to win and we are putting everything we got out there to make mother Ghana proud.”

Mr. Sammy Heywood Okine chipped in to say, “as said by the captain, they are physically, morally and mentally prepared, however I do not know much about their spiritual preparation which is very necessary therefore we urge everyone at home to add their voices in prayer to support the Bombers in making Ghana proud.”
