WABA HONORS GHANAIAN INTERNATIONAL RING OFFICIAL’S ICON ROGERS BARNOR
Ghanaian Rogers possesses a strong passion for boxing as he actively participates in the ring by refereeing and officiating boxing matches. His exceptional skills and profound techniques in enforcing the rules of the sport have garnered him acclaim globally.
Barnor is also a trainer for ring officials, traveling across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East to provide the necessary services aimed at enhancing the instincts of ring officials in upholding the rules of the game.
As a ring official, where he serves as the third man in the ring, Barnor maintains a strict demeanor from the moment the bell rings until the conclusion of the match.
In 2021, Rogers Barnor was among the trainers for the FIRST World Alliance Boxing Association (WABA) basic Ring Officials Training held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). During this event, he collaborated with other trainers in MMA, K1, Muaythai, and Kickboxing to prepare trainees from over 13 countries(Russia , UAE, India, UK, Australia, Morocco, France, UK, USA, Lebanon, Cameron, Malawi and Tanzania) for various boxing and combat events in WABA’s Supreme Championships.
The training conducted in Dubai was also certified by two USA-based organizations: the Association of Professional Boxing Commissions (APBC) and the Association of Boxing Commissions (ABC).
Rogers Barnor has been appointed to officiate the inaugural Supreme Prof Azumah Nelson Champion Emeritus Super Featherweight World Championship, which features Michael Poppoe and Michael Ansah at the Aborigine Beach Resort Club in Keta town, owned and managed by Gilbert Mitch Woollams.
The Battle of TORKOR ATORLIA will also showcase two significant WABA Supreme World Championships: the Supreme World Super Middleweight Championship between Ghanaian Abubak Mubarak and Beninese Justin Hounkpevi, and the vacant WABA Supreme Global Super Middleweight Championship between Ghanaian Saviour Gad and Eliasu Sulley.
