FOUR ALGERIANS IN SEMIS
as total number of semi-finalists is five now
What a great day for the Algerian boxers in the Strandja Memorial quarter-finals today (February 9) in Bulgaria’s capital city, Sofia.
Four of them cruised to the semi-finals with bantamweight Khalil Litim the only loser.
This brings to five the total number of Algerian boxers in tomorrow’s (February 10) semi-finals.
Two of them – light middle Mohamed Makhelouf (on the right in red in previous fight) and middle Abderaouf Ahmed – made it to the last four on walkovers.
The other two in the semis are welterweight Abdenacer Benlaribi who outpointed Bulgaria’s Rosen Markov 5-0 and Olympian light-heavyweight Mohamed Houmri who defeated Moldova’s Andrei Chiriacov 5-0.
In addition to the four, the other Algerian boxer in the semis is minimumweight Kamel Khennousi who got a bye to the last four.
