Meanwhile, Ghana’s middleweight (71kg-75kg) representative Abubakari Kwesi Quartey has been kicked out from the Commonwealth Games after losing to his Nigerian counterpart Adeyinka Benson with a score 2 – 3 in the round of 16.

So far, Abdul Wahib Omar and Abraham Mensah (Bantamweight) have been able to secure a place in the quarter finals. Nevertheless, there are still chances for Alfred Kotey (Welterweight), Samuel Addo (Flyweight) and Jessie Lartey (Light Middleweight) who will be fighting on Monday and Tuesday in the round of 16 to book a place in the quarter finals as well.

Yaw Samuel Addo will be facing Clepson Antonio from Northern Ireland tomorrow in the Flyweight category whiles Jessie Lartey will battle Mohammed Harris Akbar who fights on home soil in the light middleweight division on Tuesday, 2nd August. Alfred Kotey is also scheduled to face India’s Rohit Tokas on Tuesday.

Wishing Samuel Addo, Jessie Lartey and Alfred Kotey the very best tomorrow and Tuesday to make it to the Quarter Finals.
