2026 NATIONAL BOXING LEAGUE: 45 Years of real boxing in Kenya
Nakuru City will host the opening leg of the 2026 League, which promises to be another exciting season! As we celebrate 45 years since its inception in 1981, the oldest boxing league in Africa continues to provide an essential and safe platform for our elite pugilists across Kenya, further establishing itself as one of Kenya’s top sport leagues and making boxing one of the most popular sports in Kenya today.
Through its Ndondi Mashinani program that was initiated by BFK and Africa Zone 3 President Antony “Jamal” Ombok, BFK continues to invest in capacity building of local coaches, referees, and judges, raising competitive volume and experience of our elite pugilists through regular participation in international tournaments and championships, and popularizing boxing sport at the grassroots through livestream and open air boxing events across the country, the league has today become a factory of champions, producing top quality record breakers who continue to re-write Kenyan boxing history, with the ultimate goal being Olympic gold medal.
With beasts like Robert Okaka aka “One-man army” who broke Kenya’s 43-year medal drought at the World Championships, bad news Amina Martha who became the first Kenyan female boxer to win a medal at the African Games, and young sensations like Emmanuel Omollo, Chris Juma, Chris Musyoki, Emmanuel Chondo, Morris Kimani, Frizah Anyango, and many younger bloods bringing the fight to the league, you will be left breathless.
See you in Nakuru!
