Tyson Fury Sets Surprise July 24 Charity Clash Against Mariusz Wach

Former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is set to make a highly unexpected return to the ring on July 24, taking on 46-year-old Polish veteran Mariusz Wach at the Max Muay Thai Stadium in Pattaya, Thailand.

The 10-round heavyweight contest, officially announced by Queensberry Promotions, serves as a vital stay-busy tune-up for Fury (35-2-1, 24 KOs) ahead of a planned autumn blockbuster against Anthony Joshua.

However, the event is generating major buzz for its unique humanitarian structure. All proceeds from the 2,000-capacity arena are being directed toward local Thai charities, prompting the WBC to create an inaugural “Humanitarian Title” to honor the occasion. Furthermore, the fight is heavily rumored to stream globally on Netflix, adding significant broadcast weight to the tropical feature.

“2026 is a landmark year for me in boxing and I’m excited to be able to bring this event to Pattaya, a part of the world that is special to me,” Fury stated.

“We’re coming together to put on a great show for the fans while using the opportunity to give back to the local community. At the same time, I’m fully focused on preparing for a tough opponent. It’s the start of a huge second half of the year for me.

“Wach (39-13, 20 KOs), a massive 6’7” durable gatekeeper who famously challenged Wladimir Klitschko in 2012, is treating the bout as his ultimate career swan song. While critics have questioned the competitive nature of the matchup, Fury’s camp insists they cannot afford any slip-ups.

With Anthony Joshua scheduled to fight Kristian Prenga just one night later in Riyadh, the stakes for a November Fury-Joshua collision remain incredibly high. Any mistake in Pattaya could instantly derail the biggest all-British showdown in boxing history.
