Fight week has arrived, and the first-ever Matchroom Boxing event in Africa will take place on December 20, just a few days away.

This event, co-hosted by Sharaf Mahama’s Legacy Rise Sports and Anthony Joshua’s 258 Boxing, aims to highlight local Ghanaian talent and draw attention to the country’s tourism.

In what will be a sensational light heavyweight main event, Craig ‘Spider’ Richards will face off against fellow Londoner Dan ‘Super’ Azeez at the Legon Sports Stadium in Accra, which will air on DAZN.

Locally, the event will be broadcast on TV3 and Onua TV. Also, tickets for in-person attendance are available at https://tickets.legacyriseglobal.com/.

The fight card features a diverse lineup of boxers, however the majority are Ghanaian, bringing a strong national presence to the event. There are also several championship titles up for grabs.

Pre-fight activities

The promotion of the event began with a walk through the streets of Accra. With fight night drawing near, here are the more activities lined up for fans.

● Friday (Dec 19) – Public weigh-in at Bukom Boxing Arena at 5pm
