Postponement Of GBA Executive Board Elections – Final Vetting Scheduled For 4th June 2026
The Ghana Boxing Interim Management Committee (GBIMC), in consultation with the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation, wishes to inform all stakeholders and the general public that the GBA Executive Board Elections will not take place tomorrow, 4th June 2026, as earlier scheduled.
According to a Press Release signed by Chairman of the GBIMC, Samir Captan, this decision as communicated earlier to stakeholders, has been taken to ensure that no candidate is disenfranchised and that the vetting process is conducted thoroughly, transparently, and in strict adherence to the GBA Constitution.
Following several appeals from aspirants for amendments, corrections, and submission of requested documents, the GBIMC has resolved to conduct the final vetting session on Thursday, 4th June 2026 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In addition, the GBIMC has introduced a mandatory Fitness-For-Role (FFR) evaluation for aspirants contesting the top positions (President, 1st Vice President, and 2nd Vice President) to further strengthen the integrity of the process.
A new date for the Elective Extraordinary Congress will be communicated immediately after the vetting, further processes and consultations are concluded.
The GBIMC assures all stakeholders that the vetting and election processes will be conducted with transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to the Constitution of the Ghana Boxing Authority.
