The chief executive officer and the bank roller of the Don’s Promotion Michael Nii Yarboi Annan, on Wednesday 24th May at the launch of their next fight outlined a number of innovations to change the face of boxing promotions in Ghana.

This comes as no surprise to the many boxing fans who were in attendance at the press launch of the fight dubbed “The battle of supremacy” which comes off at the La Palm Royal Beach, on the 9th of August 2019. Don’s Promotion were the first Ghanaian promotional syndicate to sign and promote boxing locally on per-view contract with StarTimes across the African boxing space. This does not only take Ghanaian boxing to the rest of Africa, but also enhance the finances of the boxers as well.

At the launch, Mr. Annan announced that the promotional outfit, in partnership with Zenith Bank Ghana, will be the conduit through which tickets to their fight nights will be sold. This can be obtained through Visa cards, Master cards and mobile money. Tickets to their fights can also be obtained through their website [www.donspromotion.com] which was also made public on the same day.

“We don’t want to end here. The ultimate of all these innovations is to make way for us to control the major titles which will allow for our boxers to earn big purses, and that is the focus of Don’s Promotions” Mr. Annan expressed. “We will sign disciplined boxers who will become faces of brands in Ghana, Africa and the world.” he added.

Carl Lokko, a renowned Ghanaian trainer and the Assistant technical director of the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) who represented the GBA at the launch said “This is in line with what happens in international circles. It is a novelty in Ghana, and I call on all to support this innovation”.

The occasion also saw the signing of Ghana based Nigerian boxer, Felix Williams, on a promotional deal with Don’s Promotions.
