The eight-round spectacle featured a matchup between two undefeated light heavyweights, Jonathan Tetteh and Freezy Macbones, at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Seth Gyimah, also known as Freezy Macbones, saw his record fall to 11-1, whereas Jonathan ‘Worldwide’ Tetteh improved his record to 11-0.

Freezy made a grand entrance, proudly displaying his cultural heritage in all its glory.

His walkout was accompanied by traditional dancers draped in kente. Hailing from Kumasi, he also had the Asante kingdom’s royal umbrella on display.

Jonathan Tetteh came out to Wendy Shay’s Uber driver, and in his usual jovial fashion, came out dancing and singing along.

Present were John Mahama, the President of Ghana, and notable figures from the boxing world, including Azumah Nelson, members of the GBIMC, Dereck Chisora, Joshua Clottey, and Ayitey Powers.

Jonathan Tetteh was the aggressor in the first round, using effective footwork and jabs to avoid Freezy’s wild swings.

Tetteh mainly used this strategy, attacking and then withdrawing after throwing his combinations.

In the early rounds, Freezy Macbones appeared to seek openings for his signature right-hand punch, aiming for a knockout. In round two, he landed a right cross that stunned Tetteh.

In the middle of the bout, Tetteh looked visibly fatigued and began clinching. Freezy appeared to be getting impatient with the inactivity and urged Tetteh to come to the center of the ring, as he wanted to have a brawl and achieve a knockout.

Tetteh, however, kept up his clinch work. In round 8, Worldwide fell to the ground, not due to a punch, but because he protested that Freezy Macbones had bitten him. The referee penalized Freezy Macbones, costing him a point.

After eight rounds, the judges scored the bout 80-73, 78-74, and 77-75, leading to a unanimous decision in favor of ‘Worldwide’ Tetteh,  crowning him the WBA Africa Light Heavyweight champion.

The co-main event was as expected, and it set the tone for the main event, where Craig Richards defeated Dan Azeez by knockout in the twelfth round. The results, though, have sparked debate, as some fans believe Macbones was more active than Tetteh and deserved the win.
