Team Nigeria (Boxing) has resumed closed camping on Monday, November 24th, at Goodluck Hostel, Package B, MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja, ahead of the 4th Africa Youth Games in Luanda, Angola 🇦🇴.

The multi-sport event will feature athletes between the ages of 14 and 17, bringing together competitors from 54 African nations.

The Games aim to promote sports, discover and develop young talent for competitions such as the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (for which they will serve as qualifiers), and foster integration and cultural exchange among African countries.

The event is scheduled to take place from December 10th–20th, 2025, in Angola.

Team Nigeria:
The boxing team will be led by the Nigerian Boxing head coach, Anthony Konyegwachi.

Athletes (Boxers) Invited to Camp:

*Ayomide Mayowa (Female) – Ogun State

*Idowu Mistura (Female) – Lagos State

*Solomon Joshua (Male) – Rivers State

*Abduwahab Abdulrahmon (Male) – Ogun State

*Abijuwon Farouq (Male) – Lagos State

*Oshikoya Farouq (Male) – Ogun State.

According to an official letter signed by the Secretary-General of the Nigeria Boxing Federation (NBF), Mrs. Vivian Azimene, the camping program is aimed at ensuring adequate preparation and optimal performance at the Games. And all invited athletes are expected to report to camp as scheduled and comply with all camp rules and guidelines.
