Former Black Bomber, Jonathan Akorfe  Tetteh aka ‘Worldwide’ gave Ernest Baubali Akushey some boxing lessons when he floored him in rounds one and five before the latter gave up in round seven in a much anticipated bout dubbed ‘battle of the brave hearts’ at the Bukom Boxing Arena on Saturday.

Baubali who failed to throw punches as expected did not come for round seven and apologised to his fans saying that he did more road work than going to the gym.

He pleaded with Tetteh to give him a rematch.

However Tetteh who represented Ghana at the 2024 Olympic Games Qualifiers said his target is Seth Gyimah aka Freezy Macbones however he commended Baubali for giving him a good fight by surviving the knock downs and kept on coming forward.

Buabali’s corner decided not to go for round seven after six exciting rounds that saw Tetteh leading, but he also became tired and resorted to clinching.

Referee Neequaye Kotey did not get it tough handling the two pugilists who argued and bragged before the fight.

Hon. Alfred Kotey Ashie promised and delivered 2,000ghc to Tetteh for his victory and gave Baubali 1,000ghc for his effort.

The new champion was decorated by President of the Ghana Boxing Authority,  Abraham Kotei Neequaye.

Tetteh enjoyed support from his former Black Bombers colleagues like Henry Malm, Joseph Commey and Abu Kamoko.

In other bouts, Alfred Lamptey aka ‘Show Time’ won but did not have it easy against Wali Imouro from Benin who took him to the full distance, while Joseph Commey had an easy job on the night overpowering veteran Nurudeen Boyefio in round one.

Another veteran boxer Isaac Nettey lost to his Nigerian Olympian opponent in one of the exciting bouts.

The bout between Isaac Aryee and Isaac Commey was not decided but referred to a panel following a storage by the referee when Commey dished out a barrage of unanswered punches to Aryee.

The show which was put up by Box Office and supported by Base Pharmacy was well attended by real boxing fans.
