I WENT INTO THE FIGHT WITH THE GOAL OF BEATING HIM AND I DID JUST THAT- FREEZY MACBONES CLARIFIES

Ghana’s Seth Gyimah aka  Freezy MacBones has revealed in an interview with Captain Smart that he never bit his opponent as wildly speculated and was hard done in his unanimous decision defeat to Jonathan Tetteh.

“I am not a tribal bigot and I never bit Jonathan Tetteh.” he told the host.

The 37 year old UK based Ghanaian who hailed from the Ashanti region felt hard by the decision of the official. Expatiating on the bout, Freezy recounts how the narrative was conspicuously misconstrued against him

“I have no excuse no apologies because I only sought to market my culture and Matchroom and DAZN is a big platform to do that. I am an Ashanti and a proud one as that.”

“I felt misunderstood and even the referee (Roger Barnor) and the judges given their tribal alienation could potentially and in an hypothetically situation could have tilted the scales and the result in favour of my opponent.
I’m not making any accusations but I’m only speaking to the potential bias as result of me being misunderstood for portraying my Ashanti culture.”

Let it be known that I am not a tribal bigot. I only wanted to market and promote my Ashanti culture to the world on the biggest platform.”

I am not using that as an excuse. I did my best in the fight and you saw it. I went into the fight with the goal of beating him (Worldwide) up and I did just that.”

I mean this guy could hardly walk after the fight and even admitted the exhaustion from the battle. “

I agree and appreciate that Boxing is mostly practiced in Bukom but the notion that it’s for only people from a particular set must be discarded. DK Poison was not from Bukom but an Akan land and so is Nana Yaw Konadu, Senior Eddie Blay and others.

Even Isaac Dogboe is not from Bukom. Don’t get me wrong they have help branded, nurtured and sustained the sport of boxing and much respect to them but that doesn’t make it their bonefide property.” He expressed.

Seth Gyimah has come a long way in his boxing career, from a labourer on construction sites to the biggest platform in the world, arguably in Matchroom boxing. You can’t begrudge him when he stakes a claim to the recent resurgence in Ghana Boxing.
