Ghana’s Jacob Laryea set to fight Jacques Tshikubu Muvud of Congo

Congo’s Jacques Tshikubu Muvud (9-3-1) faces Ghana’s Jacob Laryea (12-0-0) in Chapiteau de Kolwezi, Kolwezi, Congo for the African Boxing Union (ABU) African Super Welter (vacant) on Sunday, 27th July, 2025.

Speaking to Yours Truly while in transit, Coach Lawrence Carl Lokko said Laryea who loves to be called ‘Chorkor Fire’ has prepared very well and will certainly win if fair play is applied.

According to Coach Lokko, fighting away from home is not easy as they have to win very convincingly by a knockout.

“We have trained very well and we are sure of victory” he said.

The Chorkor Fire who is undefeated is not happy with the loss of his colleagues, Dan Gorsh and Jacob Dickson in their last bouts and wants to bring back the joy and glory to the Bronx Boxing Club at JamesTown in Accra.

The United Coaches Association of Ghana, Friends of Boxing (FOB) Group and Ghana Boxing Supporters Union (GHABSU) led by Sam Nana Gyan have also sent success and victory messages to the team.

The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) led by Ag President Roger Barnor has also sent goodwill messages to Team Laryea to win.
